Package and Specialty Printing
In my fall 2023 semester, I took the GC 4060 course Package and Specialty Printing. In this course, I studied the problems and processes for printing and converting in package label and specialty printing industries. In the lab for this course, my professor assigned each student a category, product, and brand colors to create and produce various packing throughout the semester. Based on a number, I was randomly assigned the product of protein powder in the athletic industry, as well as given the brand colors of orange, blue, and black. From there, I completed market research and created the brand "Flex."
In addition to my three-color label, I designed a four-color promotional label. In theory, these labels would act as stickers distributed with each order. These stickers would not only be a means to support the brand but also act as another touchpoint to reach potential customers and further market the brand.

For my packaging project, I designed a paperboard packaging solution for the protein brand Flex. My goal was to create a design that not only stands out on the shelf but also reflects the brand’s bold and modern image. My final package design was a box that would contain individual protein packets.

I produced two specialty prints for the Flex protein brand. Initially, I created a backlit display to highlight the brand's protein powder product. Following my professor's suggestion, I adapted the design into a banner. This project was a great opportunity to see my design evolve and learn how to apply creative concepts in practical formats.
